Debut and breakthrough (2017- present)
Dimri made her acting debut with Shreyas Talpade's 2017 directorial Hindi comedy Poster Boys, starring Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade in the lead roles. An official remake of the Marathi film Poshter Boyz, Dimri was cast as Talpade's love interest Riya in the film.

Dimri next appeared in Sajid Ali's 2018 Romantic film Laila Majnu, opposite Avinash Tiwary. Anna M. M. Vetticad of Firstpost found Dimri pretty and felt that she imbued her Laila with an edge that made the character's constant flirtations with danger believable.

She next appeared as the protagonist in Anvita Dutt's 2020 Supernatural thriller Bulbbul, also starring Rahul Bose, Paoli Dam, Avinash Tiwary and Parambrata Chatterjee in pivotal roles. Produced by Anushka Sharma, Dimri essayed the titular role of Bulbbul in the film. The film opened to positive reception from the critics and the audience with particular praise for its stand on feminism, visual effects, background music, and performance of the leads, especially Dimri. While Namrata Joshi of The Hindu wrote, "From the vulnerable and the innocent to the transformation into the mysterious tease, Dimri is a stunner who speaks volumes with her eyes. And the audience can do little but stay enraptured", Sukanya Verma featured her performance in Rediff's annual list of best actresses.

Dimri joined the Dharma Cornerstone Agency as one of their talents on 16 February 2021.

Upcoming ventures
Dimri is committed to appear in Dharma Productions' next untitled project alongside Ishaan Khatter. Touted as a psychological thriller, Dimri will be playing a complex character in the film. She will also star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next project, Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Dimri will also reunite with the team of Bulbbul for Anushka Sharma's next home production Qala.
